Although i much prefer PvE i do play PvP sometimes, when i do, i use my PvE characters. I see nothing wrong with this and think that in some cases i have an advantage over the hardcore PvP'ers. I have all four slots full because i wanted four characters! And also, why would i want to play a class that i have not had practice at playing at all. If i was to have a PvP character then i would only create a mo/war/nec/ele, and as i can change the secondary of my pve characters then i have as much diversity with them as any pvp player does with his characters. The event does not mean nothing to me because it is my only chance to find out what the new characters will be like before chap 2 (Unless Arena Net make a PvE event??(PLZ)). Knowlage of how characters work will Benefit PvE players just as much as PvP players. Come to think of it, it will probably benefit the PvE players more, seeing as PvP is made up of FotM tihs [read backwards] anyway i players can find winning builds posted all over the internet within a day of the game release.

This would solve all my problems

Hardcore PvP players [and i know it will be hard for them] need to remove their extremely large heads from their own rear ends, and realise that Guild Wars is not just about the tiny world in which the small number of PvP only players live in. Many more people play pve, or pve and pvp, than solely pvp. I believe that the PvE game begins when you complete the missions, so if u are only winning to play it to unlock pvp skills then according to me, you only really play pvp. I know i cannot compete with many of the good pvp'ers out there but then there are many more things that pvp players do not know how to and do not have the skill to do in the pve world (i do not mean becuase of restrictions on pvp characters). PvP players should stop being so elitist. It also is funny when somebody flashes their /rank emote and u see a deer appear infront of them. U then start a mission with them in your PuG and the warrior (99.9% chance of being a warrior) then does a Leroy. Nothing screams FotM builds more, *cough* IWAY *cough.

The main point of this message is to point out that because somebody plays PvP or can flash their crummy rank 3 around, makes them feel they are better than the PvE'ers. I could PvP if i wanted, infact i have done. I have held the halls and won a few GvG's etc, but the sheer repetion of the same arenas and playstyle is just boring and offputting. And so, as i was saying I could PvP if i wanted, but many PvP players don't have a clue when they playPvE

Quite true, imagine how much more work was put into the PvE aspect compared to PvP!

Comments and criticism welcomed,
plz no flaming (no wait a second) i'll allow flaming because it will probably show me who the elitist PvP'ers are! :P

Short version: if you don't have any free slots, just use the key provided to create a free new account, and you can then use those slots to create some PvP characters for the event. There, nobody misses out.

So why was i using my PVE character for all 3 days of the Last PVP Extreme Weekend Event ?

Solution ? Just add an un-erasable PVP slot to everyone's account. Its not like A-net is going to loose thousands of dollars if they do. People will still buy two accounts.

What i mean is, I have my 4 character slots full with PvE characters that i do not want to delete. Its great that i can make a free account and play with the assassin and ritualist, but with this free account i will have to unlock any skills i may want to use in my secondary proffession again. I also do not benefit from the time i put in when using this free account , as i will add chapter 2 onto my first account, anybody with a pvp slot will keep any skills that they unlock with Rit or Ass for use when chap 2 comes out properly. I just wanna hear your feelings on this and find out if anybody else is thinking the same as me.

Thanks,

Uh, this doesn't make any sense. You're probably not going to keep a PvP character slot when Factions comes out, so how would you use the PvP unlocked skills?

Maybe in Tombs American District 1, but the real depth in PvP uses mainly balanced builds. Players that win often don't use the FotM builds, with the exception of the guild [MATH] using IWAY.

Do you see any of the guilds in Observer mode running 'FotM' builds? No, you don't. 'Winning builds' aren't all its about, either. The skill of the players has alot to do with it. In PvE you can just slap on prot spirit, a cover enchant, and you're invincible; the build does the work for you.

There is a big difference in dexterity challenge between sitting down and watching a bladed aaxtee hit you while you ocassionally tap buttons, and coping with all the ever changing situations in one PvP game.
